Rodney Thompson of Solaris Capital is a multi-family syndicator based in Minneapolis. He made the transition from single-family years ago, lured by multi-family’s scalability and — as he sees it — lower risk profile. He and Lance discuss Rodney’s approach to analyzing markets in the Midwest and Southeast, the characteristics he looks for in properties, and the importance of having conviction.
This Week’s Guest
Working in IT for 36 years and management for the last 20 years has given Rodney a broad knowledge of customer relations and project management. Returning to school in 2015, Rodney graduated from DeVry University with a degree in Business Management.

With the economy of scales on your side, and the fact commercial property is valued in a dramatically different way, moving his focus to commercial real estate was the only smart thing to do.
