We caught up with Ben Appleby with Dogwood Commercial based in Dallas, Texas to discuss the value of vertical integration, the common practice some value add office acquirers fall into of not executing their plan (if they have one at all) immediately upon acquisition and the dangers involved with it and many other topics related to investing in suburban office with a value add strategy.

Ben Appleby is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner for Dogwood Commercial, Dogwood Brokerage and Dogwood Management and the Founder and Managing Partner for 12 General Contracting Services (12GCS). He is responsible for leadership and strategic direction for Dogwood’s leasing, property management and construction management business units and for 12GCS’ operations. Ben and his wife, Cara, live in Dallas with their three children.
